johan & nyström Burundi Gaharo Hill Double Fermentation coffee beans from Gaharo Hill in Burundi is a fun experiment that the roster did along with the staff at the Long Miles Coffee Project. On June 9, 2017, coffee beans of the Burbon variety gathered from more than 400 coffee farmers on Gaharo Hill was collected and became this microlot. The lots were divided into three parts and fermented differently.

Tank 1: Dry Fermentation
All water was poured off and the coffee was fermented for 16h.

Tank 2: Double Fermentation
This experiment started the same as the first one but after 16h the coffee was moved to a new tank filled with fresh water and the coffee was allowed to ferment for another 16h.

Tank 3: Wet Fermentation
The third tank was filled up with fresh water immediately and the coffee was fermented at 16h.
